A three-vehicle crash Thursday morning has claimed the life of a 73-year-old Steinbach man.
RCMP say at about 10:50 a.m. a northbound Mazda van failed to stop at a red light and collided with an eastbound school bus in Steinbach.
The crash — which occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Friesen Avenue — ended up with both vehicles colliding with a traffic light and then a westbound dump truck.
The school bus was empty at the time and the driver did not suffer injuries, nor did the driver of the dump truck.
The driver of the van was taken to Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, and later transported to the Health Sciences Centre in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
