Players from the Manitoba Moose are visiting eight Winnipeg schools this afternoon as part of the annual “Respond to Reading” program.
The Moose partnered with Red River College to encourage children in kindergarten to grade 5 to take an interest in reading.
Players will read to students from the book “The Moccasin Goalie.”
Schools were chosen based on their completion of a Manitoba Moose workbook created by the students at RRC, along with an explanation as to why a Manitoba Moose player should visit their class.
The winning schools are Lavallee School, William Whyte School, Ecole Dieppe, Sherwood School, Harrow School, Ecole Romeo Dallaire, Archwood School and Cecil Rhodes School.
