The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) launches in Canada today, two months after it debuted in the U.S.
Winfrey’s network will replace the VIVA channel and be a partnership with Corus Entertainment.
The network is described as “a multi-platform media company designed to entertain, inform, and inspire people to live their best lives.”
To build up an audience for the network, select OWN shows have been airing on the W Network throughout January and February.
Ratings for OWN south of the border have been less than spectacular, levelling off to rather subdued numbers.
Winnipeg viewers with Shaw Cable can watch OWN on channel 92.
