Another group-buying website launched in Winnipeg on Tuesday, giving away free coffee and meals to unsuspecting patrons at local eating establishments.

WagJag.com picked up the coffee tab at Tim Hortons inside MTS Centre between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., followed by giving away free ‘Low Impact’ classes at the Urban Wellness Centre. The website also visited Hu’s Asian Bistro downtown and gave away free lunches up to $2,000.

The publicity tour is the latest effort by many similar websites to emerge themselves into new markets.

Competing sites like Groupon and SwarmJam will only help sweeten the discounts for consumers.
