Southbound Lanes of Disraeli Bridge Closing This Weekend

March 3, 2011 6:31 AM | News

Southbound lanes of the Disraeli Bridge will be closed beginning Friday evening to allow for the installation of steel piles for a new bridge abutment.

The closure will be in effect from 6 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Monday, March 7.

Motorists can use Hespeler Avenue and the Redwood Bridge towards Main Street and Midwinter Avenue via the Louise Bridge towards Higgins Avenue.

The adjacent sidewalk will also be closed, so pedestrians can use the sidewalk on the east side of the bridge.

The construction is part of the reconstruction to replace the 50-year-old structure that spans across the Red River and CP Rail mainline.
