A Winnipeg man is vowing to open the Elite Boxing and MMA Academy for Aboriginal Youth in the city.

Kent Brown has entered the Pepsi Refresh Project, which provides the opportunity to win one million dollars to fund great ideas.

Brown comes from a familiar background, already teaching a variety of programs including Outbox Tactics at United Boxing and is the host/trainer of APTN’s “Fit First,” a documentary series that follows four Aboriginal individuals on their journey to accomplish weight loss goals and healthy lifestyle changes.

The program will employ seven trainers and also include practical lesson plans for anti-bullying strategies and the prevalent dangers of Internet chat rooms and strangers.
