The Manitoba Bison women’s hockey team will play their first game on Friday, March 11 in the 2011 CIS National Championships.

The team is going into the championships — held at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario — seeded in third spot.

The Bisons captured a Canada West title for the 2010-11 season and was one of the two representatives in the Canada West conference to earn a CIS berth to the Nationals.

Manitoba will play the loser of the first match between host Wilfrid Laurier and St. Francis Xavier on day two of the four-day championship.

On Saturday, the Bisons will play their second game against the yet to be determined winner of the afternoon game against Queen’s University.
