The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed right-handed pitcher Mark Holliman on Monday.
The 27-year-old returns to the Fish after an impressive 2.02 ERA in eight starts last season, before having his contract purchased by the Boston Red Sox on June 28.
“Holliman is definitely a front-line guy in our league,” Manager Rick Forney said in a release. “Our fans saw what he is capable of last season. He has a good arm, a live fastball and three good secondary pitches.”
Holliman was drafted out of Mississippi in the third round by the Chicago Cubs in the 2005 MLB amateur draft, where he played three seasons in the Cubs organization.
The Goldeyes now have 15 players signed for this season, including eight pitchers and seven position players.
