The Assiniboine Credit Union River Trail has closed for the season, officials announced Friday.

“We’ve done a full assessment and the trail conditions are really deteriorating — to the point that we have now closed the trail for the season,” said Paul Jordan, Chief Operating Officer at The Forks. “We had a good run, but it’s now time to stay off the river.”

Arctic Glacier Winter Park will remain open for as long as possible — weather permitting — and includes 1.2 kilometres of skating trails.

The river trail from The Forks to Churchill Drive was open for eight weeks and normally closes in early March.
