RCMP Open Fire, Kill Man on Manitoba First Nation

The Saskatoon Police Service has been brought in to assist with an RCMP investigation after a man was shot and killed on the God’s Lake Narrows First Nation early Tuesday morning.

While guarding the scene of a fatal house fire in the community, RCMP members were confronted by an armed man. An officer fired on the man, who was later pronounced dead at the local nursing station.

The incident happened at about 1:35 a.m.

The “D” Division RCMP Serious Crimes Unit is also investigating.

No further details have been released.
