Film to Show Students Impact of Impaired Driving

March 15, 2011 6:58 AM | News

A film being screened this morning at Sturgeon Heights Collegiate will show how drunk driving can shatter lives.

MADD Canada and Manitoba Public Insurance will be showing the film across the province as part of the School Multi-Media Assembly Program.

“Shattered” opens with a car racing down the road, recklessly passing traffic. The driver loses control, flipping the vehicle and crashing into a guardrail. The scene then flashes to several high school students enjoying a typical Saturday evening. None realize how their actions that night will have life-altering consequences.

According to MADD Canada, impaired driving-related crashes are the leading cause of death among 15- to 25-year-olds.
