The load of a truck sits on the Trans-Canada Highway near Portage la Prairie after hitting the overpass on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.
A truck hauling an oversize load forced the closure of Highway 1 westbound near Portage la Prairie Wednesday afternoon.
RCMP say the truck collided with the underside of the overpass on the west end of the city at about 12:10 p.m.
Traffic is bring rerouted through Portage due to damage to the structure. It’s not known how long motorists will be detoured.
There were no reported injuries.
