The 3rd Annual Trek for Tourette is fast approaching, as people across the country will take part in a 5 km outdoor trek to benefit those affected by Tourette Syndrome.

One in 100 Canadians currently live with Tourette’s, which is a neurological disorder.

Organizers say the event is being held this month because the weather can be unpredictable, much like the disorder itself.

The trek is set for Sunday, March 27 at 11 a.m. at Assiniboine Park. Registration takes place at 10 a.m.

People of all ages are encouraged to come out and can choose to either walk or run.

Registration can be completed at Tourette.ca or by calling 1-800-361-3120.

All proceeds will directly benefit the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada — Winnipeg Chapter

Prizes are given to those who pledge $25, $100, and those who raise the most at each Trek location across Canada. Lunch will also be provided to participants after the Trek.
