The Manitoba government and City of Winnipeg are committing $10 million in combined funding to 19 community centre projects in the city.
Local Government Minister Ron Lemieux and Mayor Sam Katz made the announcement Friday at Norberry-Glenlee Community Centre — one of the locations that will benefit under the Building Communities Initiative (BCI) revealed last spring.
“From Charleswood to Transcona, from St. Norbert to the Kildonans, no community is left behind and every ward in Winnipeg will experience the positive benefits of this initiative,” Katz said in a statement.
Last July, 20 neighbourhood infrastructure projects were approved and are currently underway.
