A Winnipeg man will live in a cabin completely wind turbine-powered for an entire week beginning today.

Vince Ceccarelli of Global Wind Group will enjoy many of the conveniences of modern living inside a 8′ x 16′ cabin powered by a 1kw ZüS Modular Power System at the Red River Exhibition grounds.

As part of the first ever ZüS Power Challenge, Ceccarelli’s living area will include a computer with Internet access, a television, fridge and microwave. Ceccarell will share his experiences on the Internet via a live streaming webcam, blog, Twitter and Facebook.

An opening ceremony will take place today at 10 a.m. to launch the event. Ceccarelli will remain inside the cabin until next Monday, March 28.
