A large fire at a poultry barn in the RM of Elton killed about 8,000 chickens Wednesday afternoon.
RCMP say the fire at Hillside Hutterite Colony — about 16 km northeast of Brandon — started at around noon.
The damage caused is estimated at more than $500,000, but luckily there were no human injuries.
RCMP and the Office of the Fire Commissioner continue to investigate.
