‘Operation Donation’ a Big Success for Winnipeg Harvest

More than 70 Manitoba schools helped collect 43,000 pounds of food for Winnipeg Harvest during a week-long food drive.

The 12th Annual Operation Donation ran from February 28 to March 4, with the results being announced on Tuesday.

Peak of Market and Canada Safeway matched donations, bringing the total to 171,370 pounds, including collections from Manitoba Public Insurance offices.

Manitoba schools from K-12 by collected non-perishable food items, including baby food, tuna, soup, canned vegetables, fruit and pasta.
