A 70-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash in the RM of Rhineland Wednesday evening.

RCMP say at about 7 p.m. a semi-trailer truck and pickup truck collided on Highway 306. The Ford pickup was crossing Highway 14 at the time, when it was hit on the driver’s side by the semi heading eastbound. The intersection is controlled by a stop sign.

The 37-year-old Saskatchewan man driving the semi wasn’t injured, while the driver of the pickup was taken to hospital in Winnipeg.

Road and weather conditions were good at the time, and speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.

Police continue to investigate.
