Joe McLeod (HANDOUT)
The 70-year-old Winnipeg man who was arrested last week after allegedly assaulting another man, will undergo a psychiatric assessment.
Alzheimer’s patient Joe McLeod will spend the next 28 days in the Health Sciences Centre for medical staff to determine his mental state and what facility would be best to care for him.
McLeod was arrested at the Parkview Place Personal Care Home on March 24 after allegedly pushing an 87-year-old man. The victim is in serious condition after hitting his head on the ground.
McLeod was arrested last fall after not recognizing his wife and striking her. The charge was eventually dropped.
