Final Days for Residents to ‘Speak Up on Garbage’

March 30, 2011 7:23 AM | News

Today is one of the last chances for Winnipeg residents to speak their minds on the city’s new plan to collect garbage and recycling.

The Speak Up on Garbage series has been holding a number of open houses over the past few weeks to give the public an opportunity to see the city’s master plan when it comes to waste collection.

City staff will be at the Millennium Library today from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Carol Shields Auditorium, and at the Home Expressions Show at the Winnipeg Convention Centre from Thursday until Sunday.

Residents can also complete an online survey until April 11 by visiting garbage.speakupwinnipeg.com.

The final garbage and recycling plan will be presented to city council in the fall.
