Manitoba Schools Share $10K Music Grant

By Sarah Klein

A $10,000 grant for special music projects has been divided up among Manitoba schools as part of Celebrating Music in Manitoba Schools Month.

The grant will help schools put on music-related events and concerts in April.

Manitoba Education is also co-ordinating activities with the Coalition for Music Education in Canada by holding a concert on Music Monday on May 2. This national event is being showcased in Manitoba for the first time.

On April 13, 19, 27 and May 2, 545 students from across Manitoba will perform instrumental music and songs at the Legislative Building between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
