Assiniboia Downs is hosting the first ever Sport and Leisure Show this weekend, cramming activities, displays and food into two days before the regular horse racing season begins.
Sport and recreational vehicles will be on display, as well as fun games for the kids and a chance to win a $1,000 Winnipeg Goldeyes Skyview Suite package.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will also be involved, as players Kelly Butler, Obby Khan, Glenn January and Steve Morley sign autographs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Blue Bombers are also giving away $300 worth of merchandise.
Admission to the show is $5 and children under 12 are free. Parking is also free.
“It should be a great family-oriented weekend,” Assiniboia Downs’ CEO Darren Dunn said in a release. “What visitors should really love are the interactive activities starting with the Goldeyes radar pitch.”
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
