Stony Mountain Ski Area (HANDOUT)

It’s the last weekend to enjoy hitting the slopes at Stony Mountain Ski Area.

The ski hill still has a base of more than 50 centimetres of snow and conditions are reported to be very good.

Officials say all runs are open and both lifts are operating.

Stony will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday. A Slush Cup event will take place in the afternoon.

This isn’t the longest the ski hill has been open. In 1997, Stony stayed open until the third week of April.

It’s also the last weekend of outdoor play at Asessippi near Russell. The Banff Ice Big Air competition runs today from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m, followed by the Slush Cup on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Springhill Winter Sports Park closed on Wednesday.
