Local Celebrities Create Ceramic Art for Charity Auction

A ceramic art auction benefiting the SMD Foundation/Easter Seals Manitoba will be held Thursday evening at Hu’s Asian Bistro downtown.

Local celebrities have painted various pieces of ceramic art as part of the first annual “Be a Good Egg” Celebrity Fundraiser.

The hand-crafted artwork will be auctioned off between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Celebrities taking part include Doug Speirs from the Winnipeg Free Press, Joanne Kelly from Shaw TV, Obby Khan from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Craig Larkins from Global TV, Ace Burpee from Hot 103, singer/songwriter Loreena McKennitt, ceramic and pottery artist Jordan Van Sewell, singer Fred Penner, singer/artist Don Amero and comedian Big Daddy Tazz.

Tickets are $50 each and include appetizers, two drinks and live entertainment by Big Daddy Tazz and Don Amero.

All proceeds from the event will go to support Manitobans living with disabilities. A partial tax receipt will be given.
