Facebook is looking to become more integrated in newsrooms and become a tool journalists use on a daily basis.
To help them achieve this, Facebook has launched a specific Journalists on Facebook page aimed to act as a meetup program for journalists.
“The Page will provide journalists with best practices for integrating the latest Facebook products with their work and connecting with the Facebook audience of more than 500 million people,” Facebook wrote in a blog post.
For journalists local to California, the social networking site is taking it a step further. The first in-person workshop will take place at Facebook’s Palo Alto headquarters on April 27. Similar workshops will follow at other locations around the world as part of a beta phase.
A spokesperson for Facebook couldn’t confirm whether workshops would take place in Canada.
