The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed a pair of right-handed pitchers on Friday. The surprising news? One of them is Canadian.
John Mariotti and Aaron Hartsock will suit up for the Fish when training camp begins April 30.
Mariotti is a 26-year-old Toronto native who played his entire professional career in the Baltimore Orioles organization. He went 3-6 with a 4.08 ERA in 41 games at Advanced-A Frederick of the Carolina League last summer.
Hartsock, 27, returns to professional baseball after missing the entire 2010 season with a torn ACL in his right knee. He has spent his entire career in the Kansas City Royals organization.
