After that bitter cold snap on Wednesday, you may not be thinking about taking your bike out just yet, but it’s almost time.

The city’s annual bike auction will take place on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 at the Varsity View Sportsplex, 4230 Ridgewood Avenue.

The auction will give the public an opportunity to look at approximately 850 unclaimed bicycles.

About 500 bikes will be auctioned off on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. (viewing from 7 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.) and another 350 on Sunday beginning at noon (viewing from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.)

On-site parking is available for $2.00, with all proceeds going to the Varsity View Community Club.

Bikes are sold as-in without warranty. Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Interac payments will be accepted. Cheques will not be accepted.

A one-time bicycle registration fee of $5 will be available after the auction.
