Crash with Semi Kills Man on Trans-Canada

A crash between a semi-trailer truck and a car in the RM of Tache has left one man dead.

Manitoba RCMP say at about 1 a.m. Thursday a 2007 Hyundai Accent travelling northbound on the Trans-Canada Highway was involved in a collision with a semi heading westbound at the junction of Highway 207 at Dufresne, Manitoba.

The 21-year-old area man driving the Hyundai was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased, while the 42-year-old Montreal man driving the semi wasn’t injured.

The intersection is controlled by a stop sign.

Police are continuing to investigate.

The deceased’s name will not be released.
