A session today hosted by the Sport Medicine and Science Council of Manitoba will look at the severity of concussions in sports.

The Concussion Experience will include presenters Jon Oosterhuis of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and retired NHL player Carey Wilson.

The seminar will include information on concussions from basic knowledge including history, signs and symptoms, to immediate care, return to play guidelines and prevention.

Coaches, parents and medical personnel are invited to attend, and only a few spaces remain available.

The Concussion Experience will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Sport for Life Centre, 145 Pacific Avenue. Six presentations will make up the majority of the conference. The conference will finish with a panel discussion hosted by Jim Toth of Shaw TV.
