Dozens of former stray dogs are in new and loving homes this weekend after a two-day sale at the Animal Services Agency.
About 47 dogs were put up for adoption Friday and Saturday for $99 and the response from the public was overwhelming.
Chief Operating Officer Leland Gordon estimated around 200 people came out Saturday and said they were on track to run out of dogs by the day’s end. Gordon said local media attention helped draw in large crowds to the Logan Avenue agency.
Each dog came with a license, micro-chip, spay/neuter, basic shots, food, and pet health insurance.
