To celebrate Earth Day, CAA Manitoba is holding “The Great Battery Roundup” today at its Winnipeg and Brandon locations.
This year, CAA has expanded its program to include old vehicle tires and used motor oil as well, both of which can be reused and recycled.
Old batteries can be dropped off free of charge at 870 Empress Street, 2211 McPhillips Street and 501 St. Anne’s Road, and in Brandon at the CAA Service Centre, Unit C — 305 18th Street N.
CAA will be waiving its enrolment fee for new members, providing free battery tests, and giving away coupons for free gas at each of the drop off depots.
More than 25,000 batteries have been recycled since 1999 as part of the roundup.
