If you’re walking through the University of Manitoba’s Brodie Centre this morning, you’ll be in for a musical theatre treat.
The Shelley Shearer School of Dance will be performing “Be Our Guest”, an excerpt from Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”
The preview performance is leading up to the gala that the school will present at Pantages Playhouse on Tuesday, May 3 as a fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba called Kids Helping Kids.
Special guest alumni from across Canada will join local and international award-winners during the gala, such as Lindsay Nelko, Catherine Hayward with Calgary’s Decidedly Jazz Dance company, Grammy-nominated, Juno award-winning singer Jessica Havey from Winnipeg’s The Duhks, and from Toronto, Dani Matte with platinum-selling singer/songwriter and Canadian Idol top 7 finalist Rob James (formerly of McMaster and James).
Today’s free performance will begin at 10:30 a.m.
