About 250 estheticians and stylists from 15 Aveda salons across Manitoba will be marching today in support of clean drinking water in foreign countries.
The fifth annual I Walk for Water event will begin at 9 a.m. at the Manitoba Legislature and make its way east up Broadway.
The five kilometre walk will support clean drinking water in Africa and help support WaterCan — a non-profit organization dedicated to ending poverty by helping the world’s poorest people gain access to clean water, basic sanitation, and hygiene education.
Walkers will end up at City Hall between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., eventually returning to the Legislature.
Aveda Canada’s goal this year is $400,000 for clean water rights.
