Members of PETA will be protesting the slaughter of seals on Thursday in front of the Canada Revenue Agency at 325 Broadway.

Activists will line up wearing seal masks and lie in a pile of “bloody” fake money to protest the millions of dollars the Canadian government spends each year to help the industry. The protest comes a few days before the April 30 deadline for Canadians to file their taxes.

According to PETA, ending the commercial seal slaughter would save the country $7 million each year.

The protest is planned from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those wanting to join the protest can RSVP on the group’s Facebook page.
