Fire up those Bunsen burners — chemistry students from across Western Canada are meeting at the University of Manitoba this weekend.

The U of M and the Undergraduate Chemistry Club are hosting the 2011 Western Canadian Undergraduate Chemistry Conference (WCUCC), celebrating the 25th anniversary of the event.

Students will discuss research in all aspects of chemistry, and is an opportunity for young chemists to learn about “hot topics” in their field of study and also network with faculty and students in other provinces.

The WCUCC will run from Sunday to Tuesday, May 3 and include more than 100 undergraduate chemistry students, keynote speakers, scientific presentations and panel discussions.
