Two members of the Canadian military were killed early Sunday morning in a rollover accident near Brandon.

RCMP say at about 12:30 a.m. a 2003 Ford Escape carrying four men rolled off a bridge after breaking through a guard rail on Provincial Road 457.

The accident happened about six kilometres east of Brandon.

The SUV is reported to have lost control while crossing the bridge that runs over Willow Creek. The vehicle landed on its roof and was partially submerged in the creek.

A 24-year-old passenger was able to make it out of the vehicle and get help from passing motorists.

The 26-year-old driver and his 24-year-old front seat passenger died at the scene. A fourth passenger — a 27-year-old man — is in serious condition with life threatening injuries.

The 24-year-old man who went to get help sustained non-life threatening injuries.

All four men were stationed at CFB Shilo.

RCMP say road condition at the time were slippery with snow packed sections.

Police are continuing to investigate and no names have been released.
