Man Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in Cross Lake

A 22-year-old man from Cross Lake First Nation was killed Sunday while walking on a roadway in the area.

RCMP say at about 3:30 a.m., a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado struck the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Visibility was reduced at the time by blowing snow.

The 27-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and faces a number of charges, including impaired driving.

Glindon Marcus Trout of Thompson will appear in court today.

The name of the deceased will not be released.
