Folk Festival Musicians Perform in Ottawa This Weekend

The Winnipeg Folk Festival is showcasing talent of Manitoba and Saskatchewan musicians this Saturday in Ottawa.

Prairie talent will perform on stage, bringing together The Deep Dark Woods, Del Barber, Romi Mayes, and Shuyler Jansen.

“This year, as we celebrate our 38th Winnipeg Folk Festival, we’re thrilled to be able to showcase a a new generation of folk musicians from Manitoba and Saskatchewan at Prairie Scene,” said Tamara Kater, executive director of the Winnipeg Folk Festival. “Along with that, we’re proud to be recognized as a cultural leader and trailblazer.”

If you’re in the Ottawa area this weekend, the performances begin at the National Arts Centre — Fourth Stage, 53 Elgin Street at 2 p.m. local time. Tickets are $15.

Otherwise, catch the music locally when the Winnipeg Folk Festival kicks off July 6.
