Provincial Badminton Championships This Weekend

Carman will host the 2011 Provincial High School Badminton Championships this weekend, as 256 athletes from fifteen zones across Manitoba compete.

The two-day championship on Saturday and Sunday will be split between Carman Collegiate and Dufferin Christian School.

Athletes will be competing for the coveted title of provincial champion in boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles, girls doubles and mixed doubles categories.

This year’s strong contenders include College Louis Riel, St. Jean Baptiste, Carman, Stonewall, Vincent Massey Collegiate, Miles MacDonell and Maples Collegiate.

Finals rounds will begin on Saturday at 9 a.m.
