A 32-year-old Niverville man was killed Thursday evening when the motorcycle he was driving collided with an SUV.
RCMP say the accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of PR 311 and Road 20 East, between Highway 59 and Niverville.
According to police, the motorcycle was travelling westbound on PR 311 when it collided with the passenger side of a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer that was crossing PR 311 heading northbound on Road 20 East. The intersection is controlled by a stop sign.
The driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
All four occupants in the blazer were also from Niverville, but did not suffer any injuries.
RCMP are continuing to investigate, and say the driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time. His name isn’t being released.
