Manitobans love their fresh produce and homemade baking, especially if it’s local.
Crampton’s Market at the corner of Waverley Street and Bishop Grandin Boulevard officially opened up for the season on May 5. A seasonal favourite, the market offers up an array of healthy food and natural meats, and specializes in organic produce.
They’re off to a slow start this season with cooler temperatures hampering produce, but owner Erin Crampton is anticipating wild harvest fiddleheads, asparagus and morel mushrooms in about two weeks.
The market currently has hot house tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes and herbs in stock.
Another local favourite — the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market — will open on Saturday, June 4.
