Safety Expo Planned in Portage la Prairie on May 16

With National Police Week approaching May 15-21, a safety expo in Portage la Prairie will include local RCMP, firefighters and EMS on Monday, May 16.

Representatives from Manitoba Public Insurance will be in attendance, along with child seat technicians to show the correct installation of child seats.

Portage city council will host a BBQ at the event with proceeds being donated to the Portage Community Revitalization Corporation (PCRC). The PCRC is a local non-profit organization that provides services which includes those surrounding public safety and security.

The safety expo is planned to be held in the Portage Co-Op parking lot at 2275 Saskatchewan Avenue in Portage la Prairie from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A BBQ lunch will be provided for $4, including a smokie and a drink.

UPDATE: Due to the flood, this event has been cancelled.
