EMS Week Kicks Off with Educational Activities

Today marks the beginning of EMS Week 2011 across the country, and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) is providing a variety of educational and entertaining activities, to highlight the emergency medical system in the community.

Tonight is the 3rd Annual EMS Night at Shaw Park, where the Winnipeg Goldeyes will face their rivals the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in the second game of their regular 2011 season. The first pitch will be thrown out just before 7 p.m. by a WFPS member.

On Sunday, the 3rd Annual EMS Bike Ride in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba will take place at Assiniboine Park. The bike ride will begin at 10 a.m. and go until 2 p.m. EMS and emergency service personnel from across Manitoba will participate. The public is also invited to come out.
