Cello Festival Launches with Free Afternoon Concert

The sound of beautiful cello music will fill the air over the lunch hour today at The Forks.

The International Cello Festival of Canada will perform a free program under the canopy at 12 p.m.

The festival will run from June 15-19 in venues throughout Winnipeg, and is the first of its kind ever held in Canada.

The noon program will offer a cello quartet by Yuri Hooker, Andrea Bell, Meran Currie-Roberts and Rafael Hoekman.
