Manitoba RCMP will be out this long weekend conducting check stops in the Brandon area.
As part of National Road Safety Week, officers from the Virden, Melita, Carberry, Killarney and Roblin RCMP detachments, along with the Rivers Police Department, will conduct check stops on Friday.
The Road Watch project works to improve the safety on Manitoba roads by apprehending impaired drivers, enforcing the speed limit, ensuring all motorists are wearing their seat belts and detecting vehicle defects.
