Oakenwald Elementary School will plant several new trees on its property this afternoon.
The Winnipeg school was one of the recipients of Tree Canada’s “Greening Canada’s School Grounds,” which received a $85,000 donation from Golder Associates Ltd. to plant trees at 20 schools across Canada.
Besides planting and maintaining the trees, Tree Canada will also conduct first-, second- and fifth-year assessments on the trees.
The planting will take place at 1 p.m.
