A fire early Saturday morning killed thousands of hogs in a large feeder barn located in the RM of Hanover.

Steinbach RCMP responded just before 3 a.m., along with fire and paramedics crews, but the barn was completely engulfed in flames.

More than 4,000 hogs were killed in the blaze, which the Office of the Fire Commissioner has deemed to be accidental.

No damage estimate is yet available and the investigation is ongoing.
