KFC Double Down Returning to Canada This Summer

KFC Double Down (HANDOUT)

If you didn’t clog your arteries the first time the KFC Double Down came to town, you have another chance.

The fatty sandwich, made up of pieces of cheese, bacon and a special sauce wedged between two slabs of fried chicken instead of a bun, will make a brief encore appearance beginning Friday.

KFC Canada says the greasy treat will be available between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. tomorrow at 15 restaurants across Canada (750 Sherbrook Street in Winnipeg). The teaser deal will lead up to June 1, when the sandwich will be offered at all KFC locations in the country for a limited time.

In case you were wondering, the sandwich contains 540 calories, 30 grams of fat and 1,740 milligrams of sodium. But on the plus side (if there is one), KFC says its chefs have lightened the salt content by about 10 percent this time.

FYI, the recommended daily sodium intake is 1,500 milligrams.
