The public will have the opportunity to get an inside look at some of Winnipeg’s most beautiful and historically significant buildings this weekend.

The 8th annual Doors Open Winnipeg runs Saturday and Sunday, with 77 buildings taking part this year — the largest number of participants in the history of the event.

New this year is the first ever Doors Open Winnipeg Awards, where the public can vote in five categories based on their experience in the buildings: Best Restoration, Best Tour, Best Architecture, Best Overall Experience and the Hidden Gem.

Some of the buildings participating this year include Canadian Mennonite University, Government House, the Law Courts, MTS Centre, Manitoba Hydro Place and VIA Rail/Union Station.

Admission is free. For a complete list of destinations, visit
