June 1, 2011 6:50 AM | News

RCMP are looking for an overdue boater in The Pas that went missing on Monday.

At about 3 p.m., 47-year-old Kevin Smith left his home along Carrot River and didn’t return.

RCMP and members of The Pas fire department, along with volunteers from Ducks Unlimited and CASARA, are currently searching the river systems for the man.

Smith was operating a red 14-foot Lund boat with a 20 Yamaha tiller motor. His direction at the time is not known.

Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP at (204) 627-6200.

UPDATE: Smith was located at 10 a.m. today in a nearby lake off the Saskatchewan River. Heavy winds caused the man to not find his way back. He remained in one place and found shelter while searchers worked to find him.
